Mary’s journey with SAOS began in 1972 in the production of `Fiddler on the Roof’ and she continued to captivate us with her charm throughout the seventies and eighties. She was determined to step up the following year and took the part of Lady Haswell in ‘Charlie Girl’.
Her next leading part was as Ruth Erp in ‘The Card’ in 1976, followed by Irene Malloy in the ever popular ‘Hello Dolly.’
Mary took on many more roles, such as Fiona in ‘Brigadoon’ and a Shark Girl in ‘West Side Story’ in 1983, culminating in here finest role as Anna Leonowens in ‘The King and I’ in 1987. Mary continued her support of the society and was made a Life Member in 2011. Her charm and talent will be remembered.
